A stong thunderstorm passed over Provo with winds starting at about 7:20 pm and rain beginning at about 7:45 pm with 0.19" rain falling in about 70 minutes. The maximum rate of rainfall was 0.6 inches/hour (instantaneous rate) at 7:49 pm. The storm was accompanied by a very strong mesohigh - an increase in the barometric pressure due to the strong, cold downdraft in the storm - with an absolute pressure spike of about 0.3 in. Hg or 1 kPa (10 mbar). This storm contained the first significant rainfall in Provo since 21 May.
